Sam Dalby, born on the 17th of January 2000, is a 25-year-old English footballer, noted prominently for his role as a forward striker. Currently, he turns out for Dundee United, donning the number 19 jersey with his imposing frame of 6ft 3in (1.91m) and a weight of 12st 3lb (78kg). As per information available on Transfermarkt, his market value is approximately €275k, which translates to around £231K under existing exchange rates. It should be noted that his contract with Dundee United is due to expire at the end of May 2025, leaving him with only three months at his current club.
Sam Dalby's career in professional football started at Leyton Orient, where he joined as a trainee in the English League One in July 2015. He quickly acclimatised to his new surroundings, making his first team debut in the 2016-2017 season, where he made 16 appearances and netted one goal. In the following season, Dalby was given two appearances with the first team. January 2018 sparked a new chapter in his career, as he transferred to Leeds United in the Championship for an undisclosed fee.
Having represented Leeds United for a year, Dalby was loaned out to Morecambe in the League Two in January 2019. His stint with Leeds wasn't over yet though, and he returned in July 2019, only to be offloaded to Watford, also in the Championship, for an undisclosed fee. He was subsequently loaned out to Stockport County (League One) in February 2021, and Woking (National League) in March 2021. Eventually, he made a permanent move to Southend United in the National League in July 2021.
After a relatively short stay at Southend United, he was transferred to Wrexham in the League One in August 2022 for an undisclosed fee. Dalby found his footing there, making 32 first team appearances over the 2022-2023 season and scoring five goals. But the lure of Scottish football was too strong, and in August 2024, he made the journey north to join Dundee United in the Premiership. His time in Scotland has been fruitful so far, making 26 appearances and scoring an impressive 13 goals during the 2024-2025 season. He also participated in the League Cup and the Scottish Cup, making a substitute appearance and one start respectively.
