Ruben Loftus-Cheek, born on 23 January 1996 (age 30), is an English centre-midfielder with AC Milan. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.91m), he wears the number 8 shirt and is valued at around £7m by Transfermarkt.
He came through at Chelsea, where his size, carrying power and technical comfort made him stand out early. The loan spell at Crystal Palace in 2017–18 mattered: regular Premier League football gave him the platform that Chelsea’s crowded squad could not always offer.
His strongest league return came back at Chelsea in 2018–19, when he scored six goals in 24 appearances. A later loan at Fulham kept him in Premier League football, though his career by then had already settled into a pattern familiar enough at Stamford Bridge: obvious ability, but rarely a straightforward run.
Loftus-Cheek moved on to AC Milan, where his role has been as a physically strong central option rather than a headline act. In 2026–27 he has made five Serie A appearances and one in the Supercoppa, giving him six appearances in all competitions for Milan.
His career has taken him from Chelsea prospect to Premier League loans and on to Serie A. It is a solid, well-travelled path for a midfielder whose best football has usually come when trusted with a clear place in the side.
