Mehdi Merghem, born on 19 July 1997 (age 29), is an Algerian right-sided winger whose career has been shaped far more by Guingamp than by any passing stop elsewhere.
His early development included loan football, the sort of necessary staging post that tends to separate promise from actual senior usefulness. It was at Guingamp, though, that his career settled into a proper shape. Across five seasons, he made 97 league appearances and scored 10 league goals, becoming a regular part of the side rather than a name drifting through the squad list.
His most productive league campaign came in 2023-24, when he scored five times in 35 appearances for Guingamp. That remains the clearest marker of his best spell: steady involvement, some end product, and a role that looked established without needing to be oversold.
By 2026-27, Merghem was with Dundee United, wearing number 7. He has made one league appearance and one League Cup appearance for the Tannadice club. His career to this point is best read through the long Guingamp spell, with Dundee United the latest step rather than the main chapter.
