Gustaf Lagerbielke was born in Stockholm on 10 April 2000 (age 26), and is a tall Swedish centre-half at 6ft 3in (1.91m). His early senior career in Sweden included a productive 2022 league season at Degerfors IF, where he scored three goals in 14 appearances, before his move to IF Elfsborg pushed him further into view.
Celtic signed him from Elfsborg in August 2023 for around £3m. His time in Glasgow was not especially long, but it did bring a Scottish Cup win, which gives the spell a little more substance than a simple in-and-out transfer line. He left Celtic in July 2025, joining SC Braga for around £2m.
At Braga, Lagerbielke has remained part of the first-team picture. Wearing number four, he has made six Liga Portugal appearances in 2026-27, along with three in Conference League qualifying and one in the Conference League itself. He has also stayed involved with Sweden, with six World Cup qualifying appearances and one goal, as well as four World Cup appearances.
His current market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt. From Sweden to Celtic and on to Braga, his career has settled into that of an established defender still getting regular football at club and international level.
