Alexis Saelemaekers, born on 27 June 1999 (age 26), is a Belgian right winger whose career has been shaped above all by AC Milan. Wearing number 56, he has built up 147 league appearances and nine league goals for the club across seven seasons – enough to make Milan the obvious centre of his senior career rather than just a staging post.
His most productive league campaign came away from Milan at Roma in 2024–2025, when he scored seven goals in 22 appearances. That spell gave a useful reminder that there is more to him than tidy wide work and safe possession, even if he has never quite been a winger of extravagant numbers.
Back at AC Milan in 2025–2026, Saelemaekers has remained a regular first-team presence. He has made 39 appearances in all competitions, including 35 in Serie A, with three goals. He has also featured in the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa, which tells its own story: not the headline act, but still very much involved.
He has continued to be part of the Belgium set-up as well, making seven European World Cup qualifying appearances this season and scoring once. His market value is around £17m, according to Transfermarkt. Saelemaekers remains an established Milan player with international relevance, his career steady rather than showy.
