Toby Steward, born on 12 February 2005 (age 21), is an English goalkeeper whose senior career has been shaped above all by St Johnstone. A commanding 6ft 4in (1.93m), he wears the number one shirt and has become a regular figure in goal for the Perth club.
His first proper body of league football came at St Johnstone, where he has made 43 league appearances across two seasons. The 2025-26 campaign was the substantial one, with 36 league appearances, giving him the sort of week-to-week exposure young goalkeepers do not always get early in their careers.
In 2026-27, Steward has added seven more league appearances for St Johnstone. His career remains at a developing stage, but its shape is already clear enough: a young English goalkeeper building his senior reputation mainly through regular football at McDiarmid Park.
