Tawanda Maswanhise, a native of Zimbabwe born on the 20th of November 2002, has made his name known in the world of football as a reputable forward, primarily deploying his talents as a left winger for Motherwell Football Club. Standing at a solid 5ft 8in (1.75m) and weighing in at 10st 12lb (69kg), Maswanhise certainly holds his own on the pitch. The number 18 jersey is the one to watch when following Motherwell, as it will invariably adorn Maswanhise, who has also earned international caps with the Zimbabwe national team.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Maswanhise's current market value is approximately £3m, demonstrating his undeniable value in the football economy.
His journey in professional football began in July 2019, when he joined Leicester City in the English Championship. Yet, it appears that the call of the Scottish Premiership was too tempting for Maswanhise, leading to his transfer from Leicester City to Motherwell in August 2024.
There seems to be no signs of regret, either. In his debut season (2024-2025) at Motherwell, Maswanhise graced the field for the first team on 30 occasions, managing to find the back of the net six times in league matches. Moving on to the current season (2025-2026), Maswanhise continues to impress, again securing 30 first team appearances, but this time, he has more than doubled his goal haul, netting an impressive 17 times in league matches.
Maswanhise's prowess isn't confined to the Scottish league, however. His international competency has also flourished, having participated in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 representing Zimbabwe and scoring a goal with one start and one substitute appearance. He's also made a mark in domestic cup competitions, specifically the League Cup 2025-2026 for Motherwell, where he found the net four times in six starting appearances and one off the bench. Just for good measure, he also managed a goal from two starts in the Scottish Cup 2025-2026. Maswanhise's appearances in the World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024-2026 for Zimbabwe further demonstrates his consistent performances, with two starts and five substitute appearances.
