Scott Wright, born on 8 August 1997 (age 28), is a Scottish right winger who came through at Aberdeen before his career took him through Dundee, Rangers and Birmingham City.
His early years at Aberdeen were promising without ever feeling fully settled. A loan spell at Dundee gave him regular senior football and a bit of edge, the sort of experience young wide players often need when tidy academy habits meet actual defenders.
Wright later became more involved at Aberdeen before moving to Rangers in 2021. His most productive league season came in 2021-2022, when he scored four goals in 19 league appearances. He was never the main act there, but he collected a Premiership title, a Scottish Cup and a League Cup during his time at Ibrox.
Birmingham City became his next club, where he has worn the number 11 shirt. In 2025-2026, his season was split between Birmingham and Dundee: three league appearances for Birmingham, nine league appearances and one goal for Dundee, then three more league appearances after returning to Birmingham.
Wright’s career has been that of a capable Scottish wide player who has had spells of usefulness rather than dominance: developed at Aberdeen, sharpened by Dundee, decorated at Rangers, and still looking for a steadier place at Birmingham.
