Born in England on 23 October 1994, Scott Tanser is a draught-excluding defender well known for his capabilities as a left back. He now plies his trade in the Scottish Premiership with St Mirren, a man of 1.81 metres (5ft 11in) and weighing 71 kilograms (11st 2lb), confidently donning the number 3 jersey.
In July 2012, Tanser made his entry into professional football with Rochdale, competing in England's National League. His first few seasons saw him gain experience whilst his playing time varied over several seasons, seeing field for merely one first team appearance in his inaugural 2012 - 2013 season, then upping the ante in the 2014 - 2015 season with 30 appearances and a sensational goal. His final two seasons at Rochdale saw him taking the pitch for only 12 league matches in total.
January 2017 saw Tanser swapping his Dale jersey for a Port Vale one, seeing him move to League One in England for the remainder of the 2016 - 2017 season, featuring in 11 first team league matches.
Tanser then took a giant step as he moved to Scotland to play for St Johnstone in the Championship in July 2017. His debut season saw him making 29 league appearances, with his subsequent seasons showing steady performance as he notched up a handsome amount of appearances and some goal contributions to boot. His stint with St Johnstone lasted till 2021, following which he transferred to present club St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.
With St Mirren, Tanser has had an active role on the field with consistent league appearances each season since the 2021 - 2022 season, chipping in with valuable goals. Currently in the 2025 - 2026 season, Tanser has put on the club's colours for 18 matches and has already found the back of the net once.
Not merely limited to league action, Tanser has also made noteworthy contributions in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for St Mirren with two starts and four appearances as a substitute, and the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026 for St Mirren with three appearances as a substitute.
