Scott Bain, born in Edinburgh on 22 November 1991 (age 34), is a Scottish goalkeeper now with Falkirk. His senior career was shaped by early football away from the bigger stage, including an early loan spell at Elgin City in 2010-2011, where he made 11 league appearances.
He later had a spell with Falkirk before establishing himself more fully at Dundee, the club from which Celtic signed him in January 2018. Bain’s move to Celtic gave him a long spell inside a successful squad, even if much of his work came with the usual goalkeeper’s problem: being judged as much by absence as by action.
During his time at Celtic, Bain won six Premiership titles, four League Cups and four Scottish Cups, while also finishing runner-up in two Scottish Cups and one Premiership. That is a fair haul for any player, even allowing for the fact that he was not always first choice.
He left Celtic in July 2025 for Falkirk, where he has remained a regular first-team presence in 2025-2026, making 32 league appearances. His current market value is around £85,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Bain’s career has moved through loans, consolidation at Dundee, a trophy-laden Celtic spell and a return to regular football with Falkirk. He remains an experienced Scottish goalkeeper with plenty of miles behind him and a clear role in the side now.
