Oh, well, what do we have here? Yet another young warrior ready to take on the wind blowing across from the icy River Clyde onto Ibrox. Not much of a welcoming weather, but then who said life at Rangers was going to be a walk in the park for our dear Ryan Naderi.
Born on a summer day of 10 July 2003, in our brethren nation (if you conveniently overlook the troubled history)—Germany, Naderi had football coursing through his veins from an early age. Today, this fine lad, aged 22, is curing the lawn burn, playing forward and predominantly matching his boots as a striker for Rangers. A gem of a person standing on an impressive 6ft 4in (or for our continental readers, 1.94m) with a weight of 12st 12lb (or 82kg in modern tongue).
The lad carries on his lithe frame the burden of the number 20 jersey, as if the quintessential Rangers blue wasn't push enough.
The guardians of football market trends, Transfermarkt, posit Naderi at a value just around a cool million, £1.0m to be specific. Quite a bit of scramble that lad has caused in the market, I must say. You can check his stats yourself at Transfermarkt.com.
And for the lovers of the golden past, there's something. In a move taking him away from Borussia Mönchengladbach II in the Regionalliga West, Naderi trotted over to Hansa Rostock in the 3.Liga. Now then, you might be wondering how much this little hop, skip, and jump would cost. And you won't be off the mark if you guess around £170k. A bargain if you ask me! He spent a useful season at Hansa, scoring five times in 24 appearances in the 2024 - 25 season, and eight in 18 in the 2025 - 26 season before his move to our beloved Glasgow.
February 2026 saw him journeying from Hansa Rostock to our part frozen part verdant land of Scotland, and well, their loss and our gain, one could say. The price tag? A not so tidy sum of £4.8m. The lad made five first team appearances in the league since he landed, which, let's be honest, isn't exactly Vicki Pollard-speed, but with Rangers, we're all about patience, aren't we?
We are etching our way into the history books with Ryan Naderi, who's already bagged two goals in just one start in the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026 for the Rangers. Perhaps not quite a Henrik Larsson yet, but a touch too early to say, eh? All I could implore Mr. Naderi is to mind the weather. It tends to get a bit nippy here in Scotland.
