Ross Doohan, born on the 29th of March 1998, is a Scottish goalkeeper currently plying his trade for Celtic. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch (1.86m) and weighing in at 11 stone 11 pounds (75kg), Doohan is a formidable presence between the sticks. As of this writing, Transfermarkt values him at around 250k €, which equates to approximately £212,837. This is set to be put to the test as his contract with Celtic is due to expire at the end of May 2025.
Doohan has had a peripatetic career thus far. Back in August 2017, he left Celtic for the then-Championship side Greenock Morton on a loan stint. He followed this with another loan move, this time to Ayr United in July 2018. Subsequently in August 2020, he was sent on loan to Ross County, where he made five appearances in his debut season. Another loan spell ensued in April 2021, to Dundee United, where Doohan made two appearances.
After his time-out on loan, Doohan made his return to Celtic in June 2021 only to be farmed out again on loan in August the same year, this time to Tranmere Rovers in England's League Two. During his time with Tranmere Rovers, he played 25 times in the league. At the end of his loan he returned to Celtic once again in June 2022, on completion of his loan.
However, in July 2022, Doohan forged a path back to England, transferring from Celtic to Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee, making an additional 25 league appearances. Then, in January 2023, he was transferred from Tranmere Rovers to Forest Green Rovers, also for an undisclosed fee, where he made ten appearances.
In July 2023, Doohan transferred to the Premiership side Aberdeen for another undisclosed fee. In his debut season, he made just the one appearance, however, in the current 2024-2025 season, he has notched up 15 first team appearances to date.
