Rocky Bushiri, born in Belgium on 30 November 1999, currently plays as a central defender for Hibernian. At the age of 25, he stands 1.87m (6ft 1in) tall and weighs in at 88kg (13st 12lb). He also proudly wears the number 33 jersey for Hibernians and he has previously represented the DR Congo national team.
His professional career kicked off in July 2016 when he joined Belgian side Oostende in the Derde Klasse as a trainee. Over the course of the 2017-2018 season, he had two first team appearances in league matches. In August 2018, he was loaned out to Eupen in the Challenger Pro League in Belgium. His time there saw him making 23 first team appearances in the 2018-2019 season, and a single appearance in the 2020-2021 season.
July 2019 marked the beginning of his English tenure after transferring to Norwich City in the Championship for an undisclosed fee. Over the course of his time there, he was loaned out twice. In August 2019, he went to Blackpool in the League One and in January 2020, he made his way back to Belgium with Sint-Truiden in the Pro League, making seven first team appearances in the 2019-2020 season.
Bushiri continued his globetrotting adventure in July 2020 when he went on loan to Mechelen in the Pro League, again in Belgium, making six first team appearances. He returned to Eupen for the 2020 - 2021 season, once again securing 23 first team appearances and, contrasting with the following season, only playing in a single league match.
The January window of 2022 brought around another move for Bushiri. This time he crossed international boundaries to join Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on loan, making 14 first team appearances. After proving his worth, in July of the same year, he transferred from Norwich City to Hibernian on a permanent basis and, as they say, the rest is history.
Since joining Hibernian permanently, Bushiri went from strength to strength. The 2022 - 2023 season saw him feature in 15 matches, followed by a 27-match showing in season 2023 - 2024. The current 2024 - 2025 season has proven to be a breakthrough one with him making 19 first team appearances and scoring two goals.
In addition to his ventures in the league, Bushiri had a fair share of cup runs too. He participated in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup in the 2024 - 2025 season for Hibernian, with two starts and two appearances as a substitute respectively. What's more, he managed to net a goal in three starts in the Scottish Cup.
