Reece McAlear, born on 12 February 2002 (age 24), is a Scottish central midfielder with St Johnstone, where he wears squad number 42.
His most productive league campaign so far came in 2025-26, when he scored five goals in 35 appearances for St Johnstone. For a midfielder still building out his senior career, that was a useful return rather than something to over-polish.
In 2026-27, McAlear has made seven league appearances. His current market value is around £170,000, according to Transfermarkt.
McAlear’s career profile is straightforward: a Scottish midfielder at St Johnstone, with one solid scoring season behind him and a senior career still taking shape.
