Paddy Barrett (born 22 July 1993, age 33) is an Irish central defender whose senior career has settled most clearly around Shelbourne. His 2016 league season at Dundalk remains a useful marker from earlier in his career: 16 appearances and three goals, his most productive league return.
Shelbourne, though, is where the bulk of the story sits. Barrett has made 94 league appearances for the club across four seasons, scoring four times, a steady centre-back’s record rather than anything needing embroidery. In 2026 he remains part of the first-team picture, with 17 Premier Division appearances and two goals, as well as three outings in Conference League qualifying.
Across all competitions for Shelbourne in 2026, Barrett has made 20 appearances and scored twice. His current market value is around £149,000, according to Transfermarkt. His career is that of an established Irish defender, with Shelbourne giving it its clearest shape.
