Forward Mikael Mandron, a rather imposing figure standing tall at 6ft 3in (1.91m) and weighing in at 12st 12lb (82kg), was born in France on the 11th of October, 1994. The journeyman striker, currently travelling the football circuits under the banner of St Mirren and donning the number 9 jersey, began his professional career in 2011 with Sunderland.
In his inaugural 2012 - 2013 season with Sunderland, Mandron found himself crossing the white lines for two league matches. The following season offered a solitary appearance on the pitch.
As the year 2014 dawned, Mandron joined the ranks of Fleetwood Town on a loan venture. He ended his stint scoring once in 11 appearances before subsequently being loaned out to Shrewsbury Town in 2015 where he participated in three league competitions.
Hartlepool United was the next station for this player on the move, making five appearances for the National League team in the 2015 - 2016 season. A permanent move away from Sunderland came the following year when Mandron joined Eastleigh, playing an impressive 28 matches and securing the net a notable ten times.
His performance in Eastleigh couldn’t be overlooked, and soon, Wigan Athletic came calling in 2017. The undisclosed fee and three first-team appearances was followed by another move. This time, he left Wigan for Colchester United where he played 28 times and scored eight goals in the 2017 - 2018 season.
Mandron's journey took yet another twist as he transferred to Gillingham in 2019. He made his mark in 23 matches, scoring one goal for Gillingham before moving to Crewe Alexandra in 2020.
By 2022, he was back to Gillingham, repeating his previous season's performance with 23 matches and one goal to his name. In 2023, he was on the move again, this time to the north of the border, signing up with Motherwell where he played ten matches and netted once.
St Mirren proved to be his next calling in July 2023. So far, his career has thrived at St Mirren with more regular appearances and goals. His performance in the current 2025 - 2026 season has seen him play 13 matches and score two times, adding to his previous tally of 35 matches with 8 goals and 34 matches with 7 goals for the 2023 - 2024 and 2024 - 2025 seasons respectively.
Interestingly, Mandron seems to flourish in cup competitions too. In the 2025 - 2026 League Cup for St Mirren, he hit the target an impressive seven times in six starts and one sub-in appearance while the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 marked one goal in two starts.
