Michel-Ange Balikwisha, born on 10 May 2001 (age 25), is a DR Congo winger whose senior career has been shaped mainly in Belgium before his move to Celtic.
His most productive league season came early, with Standard Liege in 2020/21, when he scored seven goals in 26 appearances. That was enough to mark him out as a useful wide attacker rather than just another academy product being moved along.
Royal Antwerp then became the main stretch of his career. Across five seasons he made 85 league appearances and scored 16 league goals, giving him the regular football and profile that led to Celtic taking him from Antwerp in August 2025.
At Celtic, Balikwisha was primarily used on the left wing. He was part of the squad that won the Premiership in 2025/26, and in 2026/27 he has made one Scottish Cup appearance and four in the Europa League.
His market value is around ÂŁ2.5m, according to Transfermarkt. His career so far is a straightforward one: early promise at Standard Liege, a substantial spell at Royal Antwerp, then a move to Celtic.
