Michel-Ange Balikwisha, born 10 May 2001 (age 25), is a DR Congo winger whose career has been shaped far more by Royal Antwerp than by any other stop so far. His early senior football included a productive 2020-21 league campaign at Standard Liege, where he scored seven goals in 26 appearances.
It was at Royal Antwerp, though, that he settled into a longer rhythm. Across five seasons he made 85 league appearances and scored 16 league goals, enough to make Antwerp the main body of his career rather than a passing chapter. His market value is around £2.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Balikwisha joined Celtic from Royal Antwerp in August 2025. His 2025-26 season has been split between seven league appearances for Celtic, without a goal, and a loan spell back at Royal Antwerp, where he made four league appearances and scored once. His form has been solid enough, although he has been out of the matchday squad in recent weeks, with his last appearance coming in Celtic 0-3 Roma on 11 December 2025.
At this stage, Balikwisha’s career remains that of a developing wide player with one substantial club spell behind him and a Celtic move still taking shape. The Antwerp years remain the clearest measure of what he has done so far.
