Marco Carnesecchi is an Italian goalkeeper, born on 1 July 2000 (age 26), and now established in Atalanta’s first-team picture. He wears number 29 and is valued at around £13.5m by Transfermarkt.
His early development was helped by a loan spell at Trapani in 2019-20, where he made 33 league appearances. For a young goalkeeper, that sort of workload tends to matter more than neat theory. It gave him regular senior football and moved him beyond the usual waiting-room stage of the position.
At Atalanta, Carnesecchi has remained a regular first-team presence in 2025-26. He has made 48 appearances across all competitions, including 37 in Serie A, 10 in the Champions League and one in Conference League qualifying.
His career so far is straightforward enough: a young Italian keeper developed through senior minutes away from Atalanta, then brought into sustained use at a higher level. He is now part of their current side rather than just a prospect being held for later.
