Maik Nawrocki was born in Bremen on 7 February 2001 (age 25) and represents Poland. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m) central defender, his career to this point has been shaped most clearly by Legia Warsaw rather than by a string of brief stops elsewhere.
At Legia, Nawrocki became a proper first-team player. Across two league seasons he made 44 league appearances and scored five goals, with his best attacking return coming in 2022-23, when he scored four times in 25 league games. That spell did most to build his reputation and led directly to Celtic moving for him.
Celtic signed Nawrocki from Legia Warsaw in July 2023 for around £4.5m. His time in Glasgow has brought silverware, even if his own role has not always been central: he has won one Premiership title, one League Cup and one Scottish Cup with Celtic, and has also been part of a side that finished Scottish Cup runners-up.
There was speculation around a possible move away from Celtic in January 2025. His current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Nawrocki remains a Celtic player, with Legia still the spell that most clearly explains why Celtic signed him: a tall Polish centre-half who established himself in Warsaw before making the move to Scotland.
