Mads Bech Sørensen, decorated with the number 22 jersey, is a solid central defender born on 7 January 1999, in Denmark. Now 26 years old and standing at 6ft 3in (1.93m), he's heavier on the scales at 13st 9lb (87kg). He's making his name primarily with FC Midtjylland but also represents the Denmark national team.
The lad's worth a fair bob, his market value is at £4.5m if Transfermarkt is to be trusted.
Cutting his teeth in 2011 with AC Horsens in the 1st Division in Denmark, 2016 - 2017 saw Bech break into the first team, getting a taste of the action in three league matches. The next season, he popped up with his first goal while making the same number of appearances.
In 2017, Brentford convinced him to swap Denmark's 1st Division for England's Premier League, though, the fee they paid remains a mystery. His first season with the Bees (2018 - 2019) saw him feature in eight league matches, and as is typical for young lads finding their feet, he only made one appearance the season after. He came into his own from the 2020 - 2021 season, stringing together 32 performances and scoring twice. His final season there (2022 - 2023) had him clocking in at four appearances.
In January 2020, AFC Wimbledon called him up for a loan spell. Not one to dither, Bech returned to Brentford after the completion of his loan in June 2020. Back at Brentford, his match numbers fluctuated over the seasons but he never failed to answer when called, totting up a fair number of appearances and the odd goal.
Bech found himself trading his Brentford kit for ones from Nice, then FC Groningen, on loan in September 2022, and January 2023, respectively. The lad didn't dawdle on his return to Brentford in January 2023, resuming his regular role in the side.
However, change was on the horizon. Come September 2023, he was on the move again, this time to FC Midtjylland in Denmark's Superliga. Again, we're none the wiser about the fee, but no doubt the lad's worth it. His first season with the Wolves (2023 - 2024) saw him give 24 first team turns and pop four goals. Bech kept his form for next season by appearing 31 times and adding one goal to his tally. So far, in the ongoing (2025 - 2026) season, he's turned up in seven matches and found the back of the net once.
Most recently, Sørensen's been part of the Europa League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026 for FC Midtjylland, notching one goal in his six matches. Not a shoddy kickabout for a lad who started off as a trainee at AC Horsens, eh?
