Let's cast our jaundiced eye towards Lyall Cameron, born on that fateful day of October 10th, 2002 in our own damp corner of the world. Currently moonlighting with Aberdeen, Cameron holds down the fort as a central attacking midfielder. The lad stands at a thoroughly average 5ft 10in (1.8m for those that way inclined) and tips the scales at around about 11st 9lb or 74kg for folk who occasionally dabble in that metric nonsense. Oh, and apparently he has some attachment to the number 25, but we're not here to delve into numerology.
Someone with a calculator and too much time on their hands - Transfermarkt, in this instance - has declared that his current market value stands at around a grand £1.5m. Good for him, I suppose.
Our main man here has hopped about more times than a skittish hare. It all started in July 2017. After Dundee had a look at him, they signed him on as a trainee. Must have shown some promise, as he found himself making a respectable number of appearances and knocking in a fair bit of goals during his time there. Even managed to score himself a trip to Peterhead for a spell on loan, not that there’s much to write home about there.
In July 2020, Peterhead decided they wanted a piece of the action and before you could say 'transfer fee', Cameron found himself back in Dundee. A shuffle here, rinse, repeat, and next thing you know he's off again; this time to Montrose on loan, then back to Dundee, then off again to Rangers in the Premiership for a fee of around £400k. I'm getting dizzy just writing about it.
No permanent roots for our Cameron. He gets a brief moment to unpack his kit at Rangers before he's shipped off again, this time to Aberdeen, also on loan. Maybe someday he'll decide to stay put for more than a moment. But until then, I suppose we'll have to keep a constant eye on the transfer reports to keep track of this nomadic midfielder.
Cameron also, just for a laugh I imagine, participated in the Scottish Cup 2025-2026 for Aberdeen, so he's got that going for him. Bully for you, Cameron, bully for you.
