Luke Kenny, a Scotsman born on the 28th of September, 2003, is a stiff defender, with a primary skill set as a central defender. He currently plies his trade for St Mirren and is known on the field by his jersey number, 26. In 2020, right in the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic, Kenny cut his teeth in professional football, joining St Mirren as trainee at the tender age of 16.
In the current season of 2024-2025, at St Mirren, Kenny has been seen once in the club's first team appearance for league matches. Not one to shy away from challenges and keen to gather as much experience as possible, Kenny made a temporary move to East Kilbride, plying his trade in the Lowland League in Scotland on loan in July 2021.
Having had a brief stint at East Kilbride, in December of the same year, he returned to St Mirren. However, his taste for new challenges and experience saw him undertake another loan spell at East Kilbride later that year. Meticulous and consistent, Kenny once again made his return to St Mirren in June 2022.
2023 saw another adventure for this young athlete. He moved from St Mirren to Cliftonville, now in the Premiership in Northern Ireland, again on loan. His debut season at Cliftonville, 2023-2024, saw him make a respectable twelve first-team appearances in league matches. True to form, in June 2024, Kenny returned to his parent club, St Mirren.
In the current season of 2024-2025 at St Mirren, Kenny remains ever ready for action, having already made one first team appearance in league matches. He capped off his season with participation in the Scottish Cup for St Mirren, where he was brought on as a substitute.
