Lewis Mayo, born on 19 March 2000 (age 26), is a Scottish centre-back whose senior career has been built on regular football rather than fuss. His early loan spells helped move him from prospect to first-team defender, giving him the sort of practical grounding that tends to matter more at centre-half than any amount of talk.
Kilmarnock has been the main part of his career so far. Across four seasons he made 131 league appearances and scored once, becoming a steady part of their back line. His busiest league campaign came in 2023–24, when he played 36 times and got his only league goal for the club.
He moved on to Aberdeen, where he remained a regular first-team presence in 2025–26. That season he made 24 league appearances, plus one in the Scottish Cup, taking him to 25 appearances in all competitions for the club without scoring.
Mayo’s career is still best understood through his Kilmarnock spell, but he has carried that experience into Aberdeen’s side. He is an established Scottish Premiership defender, with his game shaped by sustained first-team football.
