Our subject this time 'round is a lad named Josh Mulligan, born on the 12th of November 2002. A firm believer in staying true to his roots, Mulligan is another talent plucked from Scotland's frosty cradle. Now 22, this promising midfielder mainly figures in central positions for Hibernian. Measuring 5ft 8in (1.75m) in height, he clocks in at about 12st 1lb (77kg)—a decent mass for throwing his weight around in midfield scuffles.
For fans that insist on discussing the commerce of football (and fail to appreciate the beauty of the game itself), his current market value is around £680k according to Transfermarkt. Look at the boy go.
Mulligan first invaded the turf of Scottish football in July 2017, when he decided to tie his shoelaces as a trainee for Dundee in the Premiership. He had a playfully subdued debut in the 2018-19 season, with a solitary league appearance.
Thereafter, he hopped onto the loan train to Cove Rangers in January 2020, only to bounce back to Dundee in June of the same year—an adventure that likely did more to accumulate his bus fare expenses than anything else.
Not content with the brief respite, our trigger-happy lad was loaned out again in October 2020, this time to Peterhead in League One. True to form, he returned to Dundee in June 2021, continuing his role as Scotland's footballing yo-yo.
Things became a tad more complex in July 2021 when he was loaned out yet again to Peterhead, before seemingly getting tired of the whole rigmarole and returning to Dundee in January 2022. Perhaps this pawn-like moving around was a wake-up call, as he seemed to up his game in the subsequent seasons.
Finally (hopefully) ending his grand tour of Scottish football, Mulligan transferred from Dundee to Hibernian in July 2025 for an undisclosed fee, because apparently the "trust no one" mantra is still alive and well in football transfers. He's made six first team appearances in league matches thus far in the 2025-2026 season. He's also dabbled in the League Cup and Conference League Qualifiers, netting a goal in each, making his stats more interesting, if not his biography.
