Josh Campbell, born on 6 May 2000 (age 26), is a Scottish centre midfielder whose senior career has been shaped almost entirely at Hibernian. He came through with the Easter Road club, with early loan spells giving him the sort of first-team grounding young midfielders usually need before they are trusted with anything substantial.
Once he broke into the Hibs side, Campbell became more than a squad filler. Across five seasons he has made 141 league appearances and scored 19 league goals, a solid return for a midfielder whose game is not built solely around the final third. His best scoring campaign came in 2022-2023, when he hit eight goals in 36 league matches.
He remains a regular part of the Hibernian side in 2025-2026, wearing squad number 32. By this stage of the season he has made 27 league appearances and scored three times, along with two Europa League qualifying appearances and three in Conference League qualifying. In all competitions, he has played 32 times and scored three goals.
Campbell’s career is not complicated to map. He is a Hibernian-developed midfielder who used loan football as part of his education, then established himself at Easter Road and has stayed relevant there over several seasons.
