Jonah Ayunga, a forward primarily positioned as a right winger, was born on 24 May 1997 in England and currently plays for St Mirren. Standing tall at 6 feet (1.85 metres), and weighing in at 12 stone 3lb (78 kg), his figure is imposing on the football pitch. He is currently 28 years old and wears the number 11 jersey for his team.
In January 2017, Ayunga transferred from English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion on loan to Sligo Rovers in the Premier Division in the Republic of Ireland. In his inaugural season with Sligo Rovers, he made 21 first team appearances and netted the ball four times in league matches.
Later in July 2017, the English forward found himself on the move again, transferring from Brighton & Hove Albion to loan at another Premier Division club in the Republic of Ireland, Galway United. However, here, he made just two first team appearances in league matches.
Ayunga then returned to England in July 2018, now for Sutton United in the National League. He later experienced a series of quick transfers, moving to Havant & Waterlooville in the National League South in November 2018 for an undisclosed fee, only to return to Sutton United in December 2018 for an undivulged amount.
In July 2019, Ayunga returned to Havant & Waterlooville in the National League South, followed by another move in July 2020 where he transferred to Bristol Rovers in League Two, again for an undisclosed fee.
After a brief spell at Morecambe in the National League, which he joined for an undisclosed fee in July 2021, Ayunga found his way to the Scottish Premiership side St Mirren in July 2022.
In the 2022/2023 season at St Mirren, Ayunga made 19 first team appearances and scored three times in league matches. In the following 2023/2024 season, he had 17 appearances and two goals. His 2024/2025 season was more fruitful, with 28 appearances and four goals. Currently, in the 2025/2026 season, Ayunga boasts 22 appearances and three goals to his name.
Outside of league football, Ayunga's contribution in tournaments is also commendable. In the League Cup 2025/2025, representing St Mirren, he scored twice while starting in five matches and appearing three times as a substitute. He also participated in the Scottish Cup 2025/2026 for St Mirren, securing one start.
