Jayden Richardson, born on 4th September 2000 and currently 25 years of age, is an English-born defender. Preferring to operate from the right-back position, he currently plies his trade at St Mirren where he sports the number 2 jersey. With a height of 6ft (1.84m) and weighing in at 11st 11lb (75kg), Richardson carries quite a physical presence on the field. His market value is placed at a modest amount of around £300,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Richardson commenced his professional career at Nottingham Forest as a trainee in July 2017. In his debut season in 2021-2022, he managed to make a couple of appearances for the English Premier League side.
In August 2019, the defender was given the opportunity to gain some game time, being shipped off on loan to Exeter City in League One. Upon completion of his loan stint, he returned to Nottingham Forest in June 2020.
Richardson got a taste of the National League when he transferred on loan from Nottingham Forest to Forest Green Rovers in September 2020. After that spell, he returned to Nottingham Forest in June 2021. He capped off his time at Forest by spending a spell on loan at Notts County in League Two from December 2021.
A move north of the border beckoned in July 2022 when he transferred from Nottingham Forest to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, for an undisclosed fee. Richardson featured in 19 league games during the 2022-2023 season at Aberdeen.
Richardson's journey through the football pyramid continued following his time with Aberdeen. He was loaned out to Stockport County in League One in July 2023 and then to Colchester United in League Two in January 2024, before returning to Aberdeen at the end of the loan period in June 2024.
Notably, the right-back made a move to Boreham Wood in the National League in September 2024, before eventually landing back in Scotland with St Mirren in July 2025.
Richardson has been a stalwart for St Mirren during the current 2025-2026 season, appearing 30 times in the league thus far. His contributions have also been keenly felt in the domestic cups, scoring three times from six starts and two substitute appearances in the League Cup and featuring four times in the Scottish Cup.
