Jake Young, born in England on the 22nd of July, 2001 (making him 24 years of age), is a forward primarily operating as a striker for St Mirren. This young lad stands at 6ft 1in (1.86m) and tips the scales at 12st 1lb (77kg). For fans seeking to spot him on the field, Jake proudly dons the number 20 jersey.
The story of Young's career spans several clubs, beginning with Sheffield United. He joined them as a trainee in January 2019 while the club was competing in England's Championship League. His journey would lead him next to Forest Green Rovers of the National League in England come July 2020.
Two years later, Jake made a move from Forest Green Rovers to Bradford City, a team playing in England's League One. Although the transfer fee is still kept under wraps, Young made his mark in his debut season (2022 - 2023) at Bradford City, making seven appearances on the first team and netting two goals in league matches.
In a bid to garner more experience, he was loaned out to Barrow, then competing in the League Two, mid-way through the 2022 - 2023 season. Young would conclude his tenure at Barrow, taking part in eight league games before returning to Bradford City.
His return to Bradford City marked another loan spell, this time to Swindon Town, participating in the League Two - a journey that lasted from August 2023 until January 2024. Upon his return, he once again donned the Bradford City colours, repeating his scoring tally from his inaugural season: seven first team appearances and two goals.
Fast forward to August 2024; Young transferred from Bradford City to Stevenage, again in England's League One, for yet another undisclosed fee. He would play for the team until a notable move in January 2026 led him to St Mirren, a club in Scotland's Premiership, under undisclosed terms once again.
In the ongoing season (2025 - 2026) at St Mirren, the young talent has already made five first team appearances in league matches, much to the delight of his Scottish fanbase. Not restricting himself to the league alone, Young has also been actively contributing to St Mirren’s Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026 campaign with a start under his belt.
