Jack Baird

In 2026–27 Baird has made seven appearances for Raith Rovers and one appearance for St Johnstone following a mid-season move; his goals total for the campaign is zero, a return that aligns with his use as a central defender and indicates his importance is measured in defensive availability rather than attacking output.

Baird has represented five senior clubs — St Mirren, Greenock Morton, Ayr United, St Johnstone and Raith Rovers — and his trajectory features an early loan to Greenock Morton in September 2019 followed by a sequence of free transfers; his most prolific season came in 2022–23 when he scored seven goals, with intermittent three- and two-goal seasons thereafter, pointing to periodic set-piece contributions rather than a sustained scoring trend.

His moves have been domestic and largely low-cost: a loan from St Mirren to Greenock Morton in September 2019, a free transfer to Ayr United in September 2020, a free transfer to Greenock Morton in July 2022, a free move to St Johnstone in July 2025 and an August 2026 switch to Raith Rovers for an undisclosed fee — a pattern that suggests lateral mobility within the Scottish game rather than upward, high-fee transfers.
