Gianluca Mancini, born on 17 April 1996 (age 30), is an Italian central defender with Roma. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m), he wears number 23 and is valued at around £13m by Transfermarkt.
Before Roma, Mancini’s most productive league season came at Atalanta in 2018-19, when he scored five goals in 30 appearances. That was a useful glimpse of a centre-half comfortable enough to affect the other box, without turning him into something he is not.
Roma have taken up the substantial part of his career. Across eight seasons he has made 247 league appearances and scored 16 league goals, which tells its own story about trust, durability and selection. In 2026-27 he has made six appearances for Roma across Serie A and the Champions League.
He has also remained involved with Italy this season, making six appearances in European World Cup qualifying and scoring twice, along with two Nations League appearances. Mancini’s career is plainly centred on Roma, with Atalanta the important step before it and Italy providing the international thread alongside his club work.
