Gavin Molloy, born on 19 October 2001 (age 24), is a Republic of Ireland central defender now with Aberdeen. His senior career has been shaped mainly at Shelbourne, where he made 68 league appearances over three seasons and scored four league goals.
His strongest league return came in 2022, when he scored twice in 19 appearances for Shelbourne. That spell gave him the bulk of his first-team football and remains the main body of work behind his move into the Scottish game.
At Aberdeen, where he wears squad number 21, Molloy has made six appearances across all competitions in 2026-27: two in the league, three in the League Cup and one in the Scottish Cup. Transfermarkt values him at around £510,000.
Molloy is still in the earlier stretch of his career, but the pattern is clear enough: a solid grounding at Shelbourne, followed by the attempt to establish himself in Scotland with Aberdeen.
