Born on 13th of May, 2000 in Sweden, Emil Holm celebrates his 25th birthday this year. A robust defender, Holm largely plays as a right back. Emil began his professional footballing journey in January 2018 when he joined IFK Gothenburg in the Allsvenskan in Sweden as a trainee. Over two seasons (2019 and 2020), Holm made a total of 37 appearances for IFK Gothenburg, denting the back of the net twice.
In a shift of gear, January 2021 saw Holm transfer from IFK Gothenburg to Sonderjyske in the Superliga in Denmark for a sum close to £260,000. During his stint with Sonderjyske, Holm made a total of 39 appearances, scoring six goals across two seasons (2020-2022).
August 2021 brought another move for Holm. He transferred from Sonderjyske to Spezia in the Serie B in Italy for an undisclosed fee. July 2024 was a landmark month in Holm's career as he made a permanent move to Bologna in the Serie A in Italy for a fee of around £6m. Showcasing his skill and tenacity, Holm has since made 31 appearances in total for Bologna over two seasons, accurately finding the target twice.
