Elvis Bwomono was born on 29th November 1998, which as of writing makes him 26 years of age. A native of Uganda, Bwomono now finds himself in Scotland, plying his trade as a defender, chiefly operating from the right-back position, for St Mirren. The lad stands 6ft tall (1.83m in metric) and tips the scales at 11st 4lb (or 72kg for those favouring the modern approach). For those locals watching on from the terraces, you'll find him in the number 42 jersey.
Bwomono's professional journey started in July 2016, where he joined Southend United in the National League in England as a young trainee. He got his first taste of senior football in the 2017-2018 season at Southend, breaking into the first team to make four appearances in league matches.
The next big leap in his career came in June 2021, seeing him transfer from Southend United to an unknown destination. Then, in May 2022, our lad found himself in the land of fire and ice, joining ÍBV in the Besta deild karla, the premier competition in Iceland. Bwomono seemed to adapt well to the northern climate, making 19 first team appearances in league matches in his inaugural season, and following it up with 25 appearances in the 2023 season.
Come January 2024, Bwomono transferred from ÍBV to his current club, St Mirren, in the Scottish Premiership. In the half season that followed, he made 13 appearances. Now, in the ongoing 2024-2025 season, he has already made 25 first team appearances in league matches at the Paisley stadium.
A point to note is Bwomono's involvement in the Scottish Cup in the 2024-2025 season, where he made a solitary appearance as a substitute for St Mirren. And in the Conference League Qualifiers the same season, he clocked up a start and came off the bench once.
