Dies Janse, born on 17 January 2006 (age 20), is a Dutch central defender on Ajax’s books. At 6ft 5in (1.96m), he is an imposing presence, and that physical profile is an obvious part of the package without needing much embroidery.
His most substantial senior run came in 2025-26 with FC Groningen, where he made 31 league appearances and scored two goals. For a young centre-back, that is a useful body of work: regular minutes, some responsibility, and a season with enough football in it to mean something.
In 2026-27, Janse made one league appearance for Jong Ajax before adding three league appearances for Ajax. He wears squad number 36, and his market value is around £765,000 according to Transfermarkt.
Janse’s career is still in its early shape: Ajax development, a productive league season at Groningen, and the first steps back into the Ajax senior picture. For now, he is a developing Dutch defender with size, senior minutes, and a clear route to prove himself.
