Deniss Meļņiks, born on 7 September 2002 (age 24), is a Latvian central defender now with Falkirk, where he wears number 21. An imposing 6ft 3in (1.90m) presence, he is primarily a centre-half rather than a converted full-back or utility option.
His career to date is shaped most clearly by Auda. Across four seasons there, Meļņiks made 91 league appearances and scored nine league goals, a substantial body of work for a defender still in the early stretch of his senior career. His strongest attacking return came in 2024, when he scored five times in 27 league matches.
At Falkirk in 2026-27, he has made seven league appearances and three in the League Cup, giving him 10 appearances across all competitions. His form has been solid enough, though he has been out of the matchday squad in recent weeks, with his last outing coming in St Johnstone 1-1 Falkirk on 19 September 2026.
He has also remained involved with Latvia this season, making five appearances in World Cup qualifying and four in the Nations League. Auda remains the main spell of his career so far, with Falkirk now the next stage in a profile built on regular football and international involvement.
