Born in Scotland on 19th September 1996, Chris Cadden is a robust defender known for his role as a right back. Currently plying his trade for Hibernian, Cadden stands 6ft (1.83m) tall and weighs 11 stone 13 lbs (76kg). He proudly wears the number 12 jersey for his team.
Cadden began his professional career in July 2013 when he joined Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership. His debut season of 2013 - 2014 saw him make three appearances for the first team in league matches. His performance continued to improve, and by the 2015 - 2016 season, he was making regular appearances and even managed to find the back of the net twice. His stint at Motherwell was highlighted by a successful 2016 - 2017 season, where he made 36 first team appearances and scored three goals.
In a brief interlude from his time at Motherwell, Cadden was loaned to Albion Rovers in the Lowland League in Scotland in March 2015. During the 2014 - 2015 season, he made ten appearances and scored two goals. He subsequently returned to Motherwell in June 2015 after the completion of his loan.
In July 2019, Cadden transferred to Columbus Crew in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the USA for an undisclosed fee. He made eight first team appearances during his 2020 season with the Crew. Then he moved to Oxford United in the Championship in England on loan in July 2019. He returned to Columbus Crew in January 2020 upon completing his loan.
Cadden transferred to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership in January 2021. Again, the fee for this transfer is undisclosed. Since joining Hibernian, Cadden has performed admirably, making a significant number of first team appearances each season. In the current 2024 - 2025 season, Cadden has already racked up an impressive 23 first team appearances.
Beyond his league performances, Cadden has also shown his skills in the League Cup and Scottish Cup competitions during the 2024 β 2025 season, with one start and one appearance as a substitute in the former, and two starts and one appearance as a substitute in the latter.
