Beau Reus, born on 30 October 2001 (age 24), is a Dutch goalkeeper with the sort of frame that tends to settle arguments before they start. At 6ft 6in (1.98m), he is an imposing presence, and he wears the number 1 shirt at Hearts.
His early senior football included a spell with Jong AZ, where he made 15 league appearances in 2020-2021. That gave him a platform, but the main body of his career to date came in Belgium with Beveren.
Across four seasons at Beveren, Reus made 121 league appearances. That is the spell that gives his career its shape so far: regular football, responsibility, and enough continuity to mark him out as more than a passing squad option.
By 2026-2027 he was with Hearts, making nine league appearances, two in the League Cup, one in Europa League qualifying, two in Conference League qualifying and one in the Conference League. That takes him to 15 Hearts appearances across all competitions.
Reusβs career has moved from Jong AZ to a substantial run at Beveren, then on to Hearts. For now, he is best understood as a goalkeeper whose senior record is still anchored by that long Beveren spell.
