Born on 12th August 1998, Auston Trusty hails from the USA - a defender by trade who presently plies his central defending skills with Celtic. Standing at a robust 1.91m (6ft 3in) tall and weighing in at 77kg (12st 1lb), Trusty dons the number 6 jersey for the Hoops.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at about €8.00m, which converts to £7m. Trusty's contract with Celtic runs till 30th June 2029, giving him just over four years left with the club.
Trusty's footballing journey commenced back in January 2016 with the Philadelphia Union in the MLS, where he joined the ranks as a trainee. His debut season in 2018 at Union saw Trusty making a respectable 34 first team appearances and scoring one goal in league matches. The subsequent season, he again made 22 first team outings and added one more league goal to his tally.
November 2019 marked Trusty's transition from Philadelphia Union to the Colorado Rapids, also in the MLS, albeit for an undisclosed fee. Over three seasons with the Rapids, Trusty clocked up 57 league appearances and scored once.
A shift in scenery soon followed in January 2022, with Trusty moving from the Rapids Stateside to Arsenal in the Premier League, for a fee rounding up to approximately £1.6m. Yet, before he could settle down in England, Trusty was promptly loaned back to his former club, the Colorado Rapids, for the remainder of the season.
The carousel continued in July 2022, with Trusty being loaned from Arsenal to Birmingham City in England's League One. There he had a significant impact, making 44 first team appearances and scoring four goals in the 2022 - 2023 season.
Come August 2023, Trusty found himself swapped from Arsenal to Sheffield United in the Championship, this time for a handsome figure of around £5m. He quickly established his presence in the Blades' backline, making 32 first team league appearances in the 2023 - 2024 season and started off the 2024-2025 season with an appearance.
However, the summer of 2024 saw Trusty make another significant leap. The stateside lad transferred from Sheffield United to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, commanding a fee of around £6m. Even as we speak, Trusty continues to cement his place in the current 2024 - 2025 season with 19 first team appearances and a goal to his Celtic career.
His tenure at Celtic has also seen him participate in the 2024 - 2025 League Cup with three starts, Scottish Cup with two starts, and Champions League with nine starts and one substitute appearance.
