But his time at Philadelphia Union concluded in November 2019, when he moved to Colorado Rapids, still within the MLS in the USA, for an undisclosed fee.
As a player for Colorado Rapids, Trusty went on to make a total of 57 first team appearances across the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons. He also added another goal to his repertoire in the 2021 season. His performance at Colorado Rapids caught the attention of Arsenal in the English Premier League who decided to bring him on board in January 2022 for a fee of roughly £1.3m.
