Anthony Gordon, born on 24 February 2001 (age 25), is an England winger who plays mainly from the left for Newcastle United. He came through at Everton, where his first-team prospects began to harden into something more serious, and a brief loan at Preston North End gave him senior football away from the usual academy comforts.
Newcastle is where his career has taken its clearest shape. Signed from Everton in January 2023, he has become a regular first-team player rather than a wide option drifting in and out. Wearing number 10, he has made 111 league appearances for the club across four seasons, scoring 24 league goals.
His best league return so far came in 2023-24, with 11 goals in 35 appearances. In 2025-26 he remains firmly involved, with 26 league appearances and six goals, and 46 Newcastle appearances in all competitions for 17 goals. His Champions League return has been particularly sharp, with 10 goals in 12 appearances.
Gordon has also stayed in the England picture this season, playing five World Cup qualifiers and scoring once. His current market value is around £55.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His career is not a long list of clubs, and does not need to be. Everton gave him the start, Preston gave him a useful spell of senior football, but Newcastle United has become the main body of the work.
