Ante Palaversa, a Croatian by birth on 6th April 2000 (24 years of age), plies his trade as a central midfielder for the Scottish Premier League team Aberdeen. A physically imposing figure, Palaversa stands 6ft 1in (1.87 metres) tall and tips the scales at 12st 1lb (77kg). He proudly dons the number 18 shirt, and he's also garnered appearances for the Croatia U21 national team.
Turning to monetary matters, Palaversa's current market value sits around £513,000, as per Transfermarkt. His tenure with Aberdeen is fast approaching its conclusion, with his contract due to run out on 30 June 2025.
Starting his footballing journey in his native Croatia, Palaversa joined Hajduk Split in the HNL in July 2014 as a trainee. In January 2019, he made the significant leap to Manchester City in the Premier League, a transfer deal that saw a sum of approximately £7m change hands. But his time in Manchester was short-lived, as he soon found himself back at Hajduk Split on loan.
As the year of 2019 continued, Palaversa was on the move again, this time to ply his trade in Belgium, joining Oostende in the Derde Klasse on another loan spell from Manchester City. He made a promising start at Oostende, stepping out for the first team 19 times in league matches in his debut season.
By August 2020, another loan beckoned, taking him to the sunny climes of Spain, to showcase his talents with Getafe of LaLiga. However, his playing time in Spain was rather limited, with only two top flight appearances to his name.
In January 2021, Palaversa was on the move again, this time taking another loan spell in Belgium, with Kortrijk in the Pro League. His time there was more fruitful, managing nine top flight appearances and two goals in his first season. The following season saw him make 30 appearances with a goal to his credit.
Finally breaking the loan cycle, August 2022 saw Palaversa make a permanent shift from Manchester City to Troyes in Ligue 2, France, for an undisclosed fee. He had a couple of solid seasons at Troyes, making a total of eight top flight appearances with a goal in his debut season.
Most recently, in August 2024, Palaversa ascended into Scottish football, transferred from Troyes to Aberdeen, again for an undisclosed fee. In the current season, he's made 21 first team league appearances for the Dons, scoring two goals. Further contributions have come in the form of appearances in the 2024-2025 League Cup and Scottish Cup, with one start in the former and two in the latter.
