Alyaksandr Martynovich, a defender born on the 26th of August 1987, now 38, is known for his exceptional skills on the field. Martynovich hails from Belarus and presently plies his trade for Kairat in Kazakhstan. Martynovich, standing 6ft 3in tall (1.92m) and weighing 13st 5lb (85kg), is an imposing figure in the heart of defence, grappling with the toughest forwards in the game. He's also donned the shirt for the Belarus National team, extending his ability and skill on a global stage.
Martynovich began his professional footballing career at Dinamo Minsk in Belarus back in 2008. He had a promising start, making 25 first team appearances in league matches during his debut season. Martynovich continued to be a consistent figure in Dinamo Minsk's defence, making a total of thirty first-team appearances in the 2008 season and eight appearances in the 2009 season.
In January 2010, Martynovich made the switch from Dinamo Minsk to Russian Premier League side Krasnodar, where he put in a string of solid performances. During his stay at Krasnodar from 2010 to 2022, he managed to rack up a considerable 215 first-team appearances in league matches, further underlining his consistency and reliability at the heart of defence.
A brief loan spell at Ural in the 2015-2016 season saw Martynovich make 24 first team appearances before returning to Krasnodar to continue his professional journey.
A subsequent move to Rubin Kazan in July 2022 saw him make an impact with 20 appearances, netting three goals in the 2023-2024 season, a commendable achievement for a central defender. Evidently, his spell at Rubin Kazan gave him confidence and an upward drive, both defensively and offensively.
The accomplished Belarusian made a final move in July 2024, leaving Rubin Kazan to make his mark with Kairat in Kazakhstan. Up until the present season (2025), Martynovich has had a good run with Kairat, recording ten first team appearances and scoring an impressive three goals in league matches. On top of his club commitments, Martynovich played a substantial role in the Champions League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026 for Kairat and also represented Belarus in the Nations League 2024 - 2025.
