Alexandro Bernabei, born in Correa, Argentina on 24 September 2000 (age 25), is a compact left back who first came to wider Scottish notice when Celtic signed him from Lanus in July 2022 for around £4m.
His time at Celtic was not the main stretch of his career, but it was not empty either. He was part of a squad that won the 2022/2023 Premiership, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup. He was linked with a move away from Celtic in December 2024, and left the following month for Internacional in a deal worth around £4.5m.
Internacional has given his career its clearest shape. Wearing squad number 25, Bernabei has made 75 league appearances across three seasons, scoring seven goals. His 2026 campaign has been his most productive, with four goals in 22 league appearances, and he remains a regular first-team presence in Série A.
Now valued at around £5m by Transfermarkt, Bernabei’s career runs from Lanus to Celtic and then on to a more settled, prominent role at Internacional.
