Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has made three Premiership appearances (two starts, one substitute) in 2026–27 and has also featured in two League Cup matches, three Scottish Cup matches and one Europa League fixture – the distribution of minutes indicates a squad-rotation role, supplying experienced centre midfield depth and being used selectively across cup ties and in league rotations.

He averages 7.22 this season with a high of 7.75 and a low of 6.91 – the narrow band between peak and trough suggests a reasonably consistent performance level when selected.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is a 33-year-old England centre midfielder whose senior career has included Southampton, Arsenal, Liverpool and Besiktas before joining Celtic – he moved from Southampton to Arsenal for €15,000,000 in August 2011 and later moved to Liverpool for €35,000,000 in August 2017, with productive spells that included multiple-season goal returns such as four goals in 2019–20 and four goals in 2023–24; the trajectory shows high-value moves in his early career followed by shorter, lower-fee spells later on.

His transfers trace a clear shift from high-fee moves to free departures – a €15,000,000 transfer to Arsenal in August 2011 was followed by a €35,000,000 move to Liverpool in August 2017, then a free transfer to Besiktas in August 2023, release in August 2025 and a signing for Celtic as an unattached player in February 2026 – the sequence points to declining market leverage and a transition into lower-cost moves late in his career.
