Alex Iacovitti, born 2 September 1997 (age 28), is a Scottish central defender whose senior career has come to be shaped far more by Ross County than by anything that came before it. His early years included loan football, useful in the unglamorous way these things often are, but the decisive part of his career has been in Dingwall.
Across four seasons with County, Iacovitti has made 126 league appearances and scored nine league goals. His most productive campaign came in 2022-23, when he scored three times in 36 league matches – decent return from a centre-half, without needing to pretend he was reinventing the position.
He remains a regular part of the side in 2025-26, wearing squad number 16. He has made 23 Championship appearances and scored twice, with four League Cup outings and one in the Scottish Cup taking him to 28 appearances in all competitions for Ross County this season.
Iacovitti’s career is a plain enough story: early development through loan football, then a settled and substantial spell at Ross County, where he has become an important first-team defender.
