Alex Iacovitti, born on 2 September 1997 (age 28), is a Scottish central defender whose senior career has been shaped far more by Ross County than by any passing stop elsewhere.
His early years included loan football, useful rather than glamorous, giving him the regular senior minutes defenders often need before anyone can make a fair judgement. Those spells were part of the groundwork, but the substance of his career came later in Dingwall.
At Ross County, Iacovitti became an important first-team player over four seasons, making 126 league appearances and scoring nine league goals. His most productive campaign came in 2022-23, when he played 36 league matches and scored three times, a decent return for a centre-half in a side more often concerned with staying secure than looking decorative.
Iacovitti’s career is best understood as that of a steady Scottish Premiership defender who found his clearest role at Ross County. The early loans helped shape him, but his main body of work came in the County back line.
