Born on the 13th of April, 1994 in Cyprus, Alex Gogic is a robust central defender who plies his trade for St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. Hovering over most with a height of 6 feet (1.85m) and a weighty build of 13 stones (83kg), Gogic sports the number 13 jersey for the Saints. His national allegiance lies with his birthplace, representing the Cyprus national team over the years.
The trail of Gogic's footballing journey is quite remarkable. Starting off at the Olympiacos in the Greek Super League in July 2013, the Cypriot secured a move to Swansea City in the English Championship. From the south of Wales, Gogic ventured into Scottish football with Hamilton Academical in February 2017.
He donned the stripes for the Accies in the 2016 - 2017 season, making an appearance in seven league matches. The following seasons saw his involvement grow, turning out in 18 fixtures and even netting a goal in the 2017 - 2018 season. He enjoyed decent playing time in the following seasons, taking part in 16 league matches in 2018 - 2019 and impressing in 29 matches whilst scoring once in the 2019 - 2020 season.
Gogic's talent saw him earn a step-up in Scottish football as Hibernian secured his services in July 2020. He made the most of this opportunity, featuring in 34 league ties and scoring once in the 2020 - 2021 season. His involvement, however, dwindled in the 2021 - 2022 season, making only nine league appearances.
He was shipped on loan to St Mirren in January 2022. Since his arrival, Gogic has played crucial roles for the Saints, featuring in 13 league matches and scoring once in the 2021 - 2022 season. He increased his tally to 30 appearances and two goals in the 2022 - 2023 season. His form continued in the next seasons, featuring in 38, 36, and two league fixtures in the 2023 - 2024, 2024 - 2025 and in the current 2025 - 2026 seasons respectively. During these seasons, he scored a total of five goals for St Mirren.
Aside from his club duties, Gogic has been instrumental in both domestic and international cup campaigns. He has appeared four times in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for St Mirren. He also turned out twice in the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025. For his native Cyprus, he battled in the Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024 with seven starts and one appearance as a substitute. Furthermore, he was in the starting lineup twice in the Nations League 2024 - 2025.
