The story of Adam Montgomery is a veritable tour of Scottish football. Born in the year 2002, Montgomery plies his trade as a dependable left-back and at the age of 23, he stands 5ft 8in (1.73m) tall and weighs in at 9st 6lb (60kg). Currently, he operates in the number 3 jersey for Livingston in the Premiership.
Montgomery's career journey dates back to July 2009, when as a budding trainee he joined Celtic. He successfully broke into the first team during the 2020-2021 season and over this period and the 2021-2022 season, was handed a total of ten appearances in league matches for the Glasgow side.
Montgomery's career then took him on temporary excursions within Scotland. This began in January 2022, when he embarked on a loan spell at Aberdeen, which afforded him seven appearances over the second half of the 2021-2022 season. On completion of his duty at Aberdeen, he donned the Celtic jersey once more and added an additional ten league games to his total tally.
In the summer following the 2021-2022 season, a third Scottish sojourn saw Montgomery dispatched south-west to Perth for a season-long loan at Championship side St Johnstone, where he clocked 28 appearances. Again, on finalising his responsibilities at St Johnstone, Montgomery returned to Celtic where he played in ten league games over his tenure in Glasgow.
The summer of 2023 marked a departure to England's League Two for a half-year stint at Fleetwood Town. His services were called upon once again by Celtic in January 2024 and subsequently found himself a temporary home at Motherwell in the Premiership for a brief month in the same year. On his return to Celtic, he played in an additional ten league games once more.
In February 2025, Montgomery answered the call of Queen's Park in the Championship, where over 12 appearances he managed to net an elusive goal. Following his return to Celtic and a further ten league appearances, he was then loaned out to his current domicile at Livingston in the 2025-2026 season, and has thus far made three senior appearances with a goal in the League Cup to boot.
